Almost 2 Weeks!

Man the time has flown by. It was great having my mom here all week. She worked so hard and did so much for us. As of yesterday morning, we are officially on our own (at least until this weekend when the abuelos arrive). Yesterday he lay in his gliding chair for the first time, then took his first nap in his crib. We are slowly trying to get him into his own room...although he will stay with us at night until who knows how long. That late night walk to feed/change him will be much easier if he's in the same room as opposed to the other side of the house. And while there are sadly no pictures...his belly button fell off, as did his circumcision ring. Now we can finally give him a real bath.

After spending 2 weeks in pain, we were finally able to meet with the lactation consultant. She was a huge help, definitely money well-spent. She showed us how to improve his positioning, and then also pointed out that he is slightly tongue-tied. She then referred us to a ENT who will perform a quick and easy procedure to cut the little string under his tongue to loosen it up. Not only will this improve his latch during feeding, thus sparing Lydianne's sanity, but it will also help his speech later on. So while it's scary to think about someone cutting his face, it is a relief to know it will get better for her.

So Wednesday AM we have an appointment with our new pediatrician, then an afternoon appointment to fix his tongue. What an exciting week...
