Don't Touch!

So on the advice of our neighbors, we decided to set up our Christmas tree last night while Harrison was asleep, so that if he didn't see us touching it, he would be less inclined to touch it. While we'll never really know how much more he would have wanted to touch it had he seen us doing it, I'm going to go ahead and say that the first 2 minutes were pretty good as he was mesmerized by the lights, but now he just can't stand it. He had to listen to us say "don't touch" about 1,000 times. Then we had to grab his hand about 100 times. And can you blame him?? It's bright and shiny, and full of balls, lights, and things that jingle- which happen to be a few of his favorite things. We might as well just hang bananas on it.

Here's a video of him within the first 5 minutes of him seeing it:

Monkey

This is what I walked out to the other day. I took pictures to chronicle it. I'm both proud and worried...

Then he stands straight up on the arm of the chair. He has since climbed onto the kitchen table.

Bilingual

Harrison is bilingual. We are hoping he will learn Spanish, but to do that I guess someone should actually speak Spanish to him. He knows several words and he says them to us all the time. Tonight when giving him a bath, I started counting with him. I was simply amazed by his ability, and I think you will be, too. Check it out:

Anyone know just what language that is?

Joovy Caboose

I just found this awesome site called Leelou Swag and they are giving away exactly what I NEED to tote around a toddler AND an infant: a Joovy Caboose stroller. Part of my entry is to write a list of my must-haves, and since I am currently dealing with one of the many symptoms of pregnancy, I am going to list my must-haves for dealing with pregnancy nuisances (specifically the ones I have experienced):

1. SinuCleanse Neti Pot- Great for cleaning my constantly stuffy preggo nose and for avoiding those horrible sinus infections
2. Tylenol - basically the only medicine you can take while pregnant, it's good for all of those pregnancy-related and non-pregnancy-related aches and pains

3. Fiber One Cereal + lots of water throughout the day - these two things combined help tremendously with the bowel issues that are common during pregnancy (or maybe it's just me...yeah, it's probably just me)

4. Cinder blocks under the head of the bed + Tums - this is for my current issue, acid reflux. Often, if I just stay away from certain foods and sleep with the bed propped up on cinder blocks, then I'm okay, but sometimes I need some Tums. And our bed is only raised like 4-6inches, I don't think I could stand 8.

5. Ginger Candy - this and taking my prenatals only at night really helped with my "morning" (all-day) sickness during the first half of my pregnancies, and they're actually not too bad tasting.

6. An awesome and sympathetic husband - this last one is key, I don't know what I would do without this guy. Did I mention that he's the one who raised and sleeps with me on the slide...I mean bed, he bought me most of my must-haves, and he's cleaned up the after affects of the first-tri sickness issues on multiple occasions? And best of all, he still finds me attractive (or at least he makes me think that he does) even when he can barely put his arms around me.

By the way, I have about 7 weeks to go until my estimated due date and I am actually feeling really good (other than some recent virus(es) that I contracted during the last month, but I'm over that now), and I'm sure that these last few weeks will fly by with Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, then we'll have a new little one in no time.

These next 2 pictures make me laugh. Harrison was making goofy faces at the camera.

The Wedding I

These are some of the pictures that I got from the Goodwin wedding. We are very excited for the newlyweds and are happy to have the new Kristopher as part of the family.

During the rehearsal, I caught Harrison sneaking cheese with his Grandma and Uncle Rob. I think that was his favorite part about rehearsing.
