Stay @ Home Dad

Summer vacation has started, and that means I get to spend my time at home with the kids. I love all of the fun things we get to do each day, but there are some challenges...specifically nap time.
Day 1: The boy figured out how to take his doorknob covers off and got into his closet, only to discover Lydianne's craft supplies. I discovered him when he calmly called to me and told me that he made a mess. He is covered in paint and poured about 200 straight pins out around himself that I had to find before I could safely extricate him from the pile. He was excited to go to Home Depot with me to get a new locking doorknob for his closet.

Day 2: He decided to climb his dresser. This is after I picked it up off of him. Miraculously, nothing on top landed on him, and the shelf prevented the dresser from landing on top of him. This resulted in our 2nd trip to Home Depot, this time to find something to bolt the dresser to the wall.
Wednesday I decided to just keep him up with me and not have him take a nap. This meant Thursday he was pretty tired and was ready for a nap with no problem. No real problems. Friday he decided he didn't want a nap, so he just came out of his room and sat with me.

On Saturday, Lydianne had to work, so I was at it again. I attempted to give myself a haircut like I usually do, foolishly thinking the kids would watch the DVD I put in for them. My kids are like baby ducks, they just blindly follow me wherever I go, tripping over themselves and getting into trouble. So as I'm using the clippers, they turn on the bathtub and the boy pushes the girl into it. As I jump to grab her, the guard falls off and I'm left with this:

Family pictures next week should be great.

Oh no. Note to self... do not try to cut your own hair when you're the only grown up in the house.
