On Sunday night we celebrated Annelise's 1st birthday. Because Lydianne had to work on Monday, we went ahead and held it a day early. She didn't seem to notice. Harrison was very excited to go and pick out a balloon for her on Saturday night, as well as buy cupcakes for her. Then all we heard all day Sunday was that he wanted a cupcake. He woke up saying it. Also, that big balloon that plays music that he was so excited to pick out for her...guess who REALLY gets to play with it.
So here's the birthday girl enjoying her cupcake. Unlike Harrison, she took her time.
We had our adopted Texas family over to celebrate with us. We told them it was because we didn't like cupcakes and needed some help eating them...which is true, but also because our kids LOVE them.
Of course Harrison couldn't stand that it was Annelise's birthday, and not his, too, so he wanted us to sing Happy Birthday to him. We didn't, but he still posed for some pictures.
I don't think Annelise liked sharing the attention on her day.
But Harrison was glad to score a ring out of it, and had a great time laughing with Melissa.

you would think after trying to hard to reach the cupcake when ya'll were singing she would eat it faster. Maybe she was breaking it into little pieces first since that's how she usually sees her food
I wish I had been there. She looks so grown up with her half pony tail!
I can't beleive a year already.

Love it! So wish we were there too. Thank you for videoing...we can at least feel like were a little bit there!! Once she started eating, she didn't want to give it up;). Oh, the best part of being the oldest is getting to enjoy your sibling's birthdays..,, sometimes more than they do! Live you all!!!
