We drove to Atlanta and then Miami for Christmas....and we even brought the dogs. So, if you were wondering if we are crazy, I think you have your answer. And it wouldn't be Christmastime without someone getting sick. I had a sinus infection which I actually didn't find too uncomfortable (remember, I'm pregnant, so I'm not allowed to take any medicine except for tylenol). I couldn't complain about my sinus infection, since Kris had something far worse than me. He had some sort of horrible eye infection that made his eyes super red (and, I assume, painful) AND a sinus infection. He went to an emergency clinic and was able to get some antibiotics and eye drops made of gold (we assume the drops were made of gold since the little 2 oz. bottle cost us $60 with insurance). The medication seemed to help and he looked a lot better soon after he started taking them.
Christmas was great. We spent the majority of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with the McDonald side of the family. I helped make some Christmas treats...but most of them ended up in my tummy (mmm...now I am craving some of that "rice crispy" treat holly). We ate lots of food and then sung Christmas carols while Rick played the guitar. Christmas morning was all about the kiddos. It was great to see Madison understand the concept of Santa, and see her excitement when she found all the presents under the tree. Dylan was just as fun to watch as he tried to climb on all of the gifts. Even "Danger Bear" got some Christmas presents! It is always wonderful to spend the holidays with family, and I am so grateful that we were able to do that this Christmas.
Here are some Christmas pics:
