Gone to Texas

Just dropped the oldest off at college. Man, that was fast. I'm still not ready.

Just to document a few things so we don't forget...

Garage door broke the night before. Couldn't get it to open, so I called a guy to come out. While waiting for him, Lydianne called because her car battery was dead. Harrison went and jumped her while I talked to the garage door guy. Scheduled it for an AM replacement. Luckily, no cars were stuck in the garage. That meant we had to load the car from the front door instead of on the driveway. Got up the day of and changed her battery ($250). The garage door was replaced ($2500) ten minutes before we needed to be on the road. So ultimately it worked out, but was expensive and stressful.

We made it to Austin and used the wagon we borrowed from some friends. Lydianne out her wallet, keys, and phone in the wagon. We left it right outside of his room at the end of the hall, because of course it's safe there. When we went to leave, the wagon was gone. We watched on Life360 as her phone drove away to North Austin. Luckily, the people heard her phone pinging and called us back. But for about 15 minutes we thought we were stranded.

Otherwise, moove-in went smooth.

And we got to see the bats!
