Dan and Vivien's wedding

We celebrated my friends' from college wedding this weekend. I thought I would post a few photos from the event. I did take some of the ceremony, but the angle and lighting weren't so good, and I don't think they would do it justice. We look forward to seeing pictures from the professionals. Here I am posing with a local serial killer, I mean, my husband.
Here's a belly shot. My mom, who saw me about a month ago, kept saying that I looked so small, and how she hoped that I had gained some weight, so here's proof that I don't starve myself or my baby. Oh, and people, I'm still due in January, so I don't want to hear anymore comments about how big I am or how I look like I am going to pop until at least mid-December.
Here's is us with the glowing bride.
Here I am with some of my SMU friends. The two girls on either side of me are also mechanical engineers, along with the bride (not pictured here). We had a lot of fun in college being some of the few girls in our major.

We had a great time at the wedding, especially since we made it a date night and left the kiddo with a sitter. We love Harrison, but it was also nice to get away for the evening. Well, we have one more wedding left, and it's a big one: my wonderful sister-in-law, Sarah is getting married to a great guy named Kristopher (yea...not confusing at all). We really look forward to it!

i'm a friend of j lowe's. i'm hopping over to throw my 2 cents in since you didn't ask.

sounds like you had a c section with your first and are hoping for a vbac.

i just had my second birth baby in feb and really considered a vbac. my obgyn was supportive either way, but some things i considered. see, i'm sure you've heard this from everyone, anyway, my obgyn said a big thing to consider is reason why you have a c in the first place.

my reason was failure to progress. even though i made it to a 7, i was stuck there for a looooooooooong time. it's a long story, but eventually had to have an emergency c due to lots of things. but. the main reason why things got hairy is that my body didn't progress. there's a 40% vbac success rate for failure to progress.

AND, i think if i would've gone for a vbac i would've hired a trained doula with MANY successful vbacs under her belt. i went natural, until the c, with my first (19 hrs) and think it would been beneficial then and DEFINITELY would be in a vbac.

so, like i said, since you didn't ask, i thought i'd jump in the heap. have a great last part of your pregnancy. congratulations and happy birthing!!!!

i hope you didn't think i am not a fan of vbacs. i think successful ones are great! we chose to have a repeat c for many, many, many different reasons.

if your dr. thinks you sound like a great candidate, then go for it! in all my extensive medical knowledge(none :), if i'd never even labored, then i'd give it a run too! i have a good friend who was able to have one and had a really positive experience.

i do think anyone trying to go natural (on the first vaginal) could SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO benefit from a birthing assistant or doula. i know it's an extra cost, but wow, i hear they make a huge difference!

again, i hope i didn't offend you. i don't come down on either side of the fence because i think there are so many variables for each family. and, you guys will make the right choice for you!
