I thought I would give an update after what I think was my last ultrasound. So, we went in for an ultrasound on Friday to see if my placenta had moved (it was low and blocking the baby's exit). We saw very quickly that the placenta had moved way out of the way and would not be an issue during delivery. Then the tech guessed his weight to be a whopping 6 pounds (and we still have 5 more weeks to go...but I think that may be a high estimate from the measurements I saw her taking). Anyways, last but not least, she told us that I have higher than normal levels of amniotic fluid. I got a call on Monday from my doctor to explain that the cause of too much amniotic fluid is unknown. It could be something or it could be nothing. So, they are going to have me come in every week to do a non-stress test (where they check the baby's heart rate, fetal movements, and any possible contractions that I may be having). I won't get a chance to talk to my doctor face to face until my first non-stress test on Friday.
Other than that, I had been feeling REALLY well up until Saturday. Now I only have a few complaints. Saturday my feet swelled really big (so just in case we went to CVS and checked my blood pressure...which was fine), so they hurt more often, and they fall asleep a lot, too. On top of that, my calves have been cramping quite a bit more painfully over the last week than previously...they pretty much are always sore now. Other than that, I have quite a few things to be grateful for as far as my comfort goes...I am only 5 weeks away from my due date, and those are the only things that have been bothering me, and that stuff just started this weekend, so I think I am doing pretty well.
